Kristina Miller is a trial attorney and partner at Waranch & Brown, LLC. Her practice centers on the defense of health care providers, including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, mental health care providers and other medical professionals, as well as hospitals and medical groups, in claims of alleged medical malpractice. Ms. Miller has significant experience defending claims involving catastrophic personal injuries, wrongful death, surgical complications, misdiagnoses, end-of-life issues, and other complex matters in state and federal courts in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Born and raised in Maryland, Ms. Miller attended college at Rice University in Houston, Texas, before returning home for law school. She graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law with a Certificate in Health Law. She also served as an associate editor for the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy and received the Joseph Bernstein Award for the most significant student contribution to the Journal regarding her published article on pharmaceutical marketing. Ms. Miller interned with Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera and the Honorable Lynne Battaglia on the Supreme Court of Maryland, and she then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nancy Purpura in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.
Ms. Miller is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Risk Management, American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, Maryland Defense Counsel, and the D.C. Defense Lawyers’ Association. She has been recognized by “Super Lawyers” as a Maryland Rising Star every year from 2019 through 2025 for medical malpractice and civil litigation defense work.
