Rachel E. Brown is a trial attorney and associate at Waranch & Brown. Ms. Brown is gaining considerable experience defending medical malpractice cases, as well as representing health care providers in professional licensing matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Brown served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Colleen A. Cavanaugh in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. During her clerkship, Ms. Brown analyzed and drafted memoranda, orders and opinions, and conducted legal research on a variety of complex civil and criminal matters.
In 2018, Ms. Brown graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. While in law school, she served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy and as a Teaching Fellow for the Academic Achievement Program, mentoring new law students. Ms. Brown also served as an intern to the Honorable Clayton Greene, Jr., of the Court of Appeals of Maryland and the Honorable Judith C. Ensor of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.
Prior to law school, Ms. Brown graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management and Marketing.
Ms. Brown is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the DC Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland Defense Counsel, and the MD-DC Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
Ms. Brown was published in The Defense Line in 2019 for her article, Telemedicine Liability: A Blended Standard of Care for the Modern World. She was awarded The Joseph Bernstein Award for her 2018 Note, Balancing Privacy and Proof: Discovery of Nonparty Medical Records, published in Maryland Law’s Journal of Health Care Law and Policy.
