Kaitlan M. Skrainar is a trial attorney and associate at Waranch & Brown. Since she joined the Firm in 2016, Ms. Skrainar has gained considerable experience defending medical malpractice cases, as well as representing health care providers in professional licensing matters. She has successfully tried cases in the District and Circuit Courts of Maryland.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Skrainar served as the Law Clerk for the Honorable Judith C. Ensor in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. During her clerkship, Ms. Skrainar conducted legal research, analyzed, and drafted recommendations, memoranda, orders, and opinions on a variety of civil and criminal matters, including: complex civil litigation, administrative appeals, criminal motions, and petitions for post-conviction relief.
In 2015, Ms. Skrainar graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law summa cum laude and as a member of the Heuisler Honor Society. While in law school, she served as the Executive Editor of Law Review and as a member of the Brand Names Moot Court Team. Ms. Skrainar also served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney in the Community Development Clinic, where she provided non-litigation legal services to Baltimore-area nonprofit organizations and advised clients on a range of business law and nonprofit matters.
Prior to law school, Ms. Skrainar graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology.
Ms. Skrainar is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the DC Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland Defense Counsel, and the MD-DC Society for Healthcare Risk Management for which she serves on the Education Committee.
