Michelle L. Dian

Michelle L. Dian is a trial attorney and partner at Waranch & Brown. Since joining the Firm in 2014, Ms. Dian has gained considerable experience defending medical malpractice cases, as well as representing physicians and other health care providers in professional licensing and guardianship matters. She has successfully tried cases in the District and Circuit Courts of Maryland.

Ms. Dian received her law degree, with honors, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2015. There, she was a Leadership Scholar, serving as President of the Moot Court Board and Executive Articles Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law and Policy. She also worked as a Research Assistant and served as an intern to the Honorable Judith C. Ensor of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Upon graduation, Ms. Dian was elected to the Order of the Barristers for her appellate advocacy work.

Prior to law school, Ms. Dian graduated from Villa Julie College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and a Master of Science in Advanced Information Technology. She also worked as a computer programmer for the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Bally Total Fitness.

Ms. Dian is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland Defense Counsel and the MD-DC Society for Healthcare Risk Management for which she serves on the Education Committee.

She has co-authored several articles for medical and legal publications, including “Ex Parte Communications with Former Employees: How to Protect Your Corporate Client,” published in The Defense Line in 2016 and “Family, Friends & Fines: Why the Road to Board Sanctions is Paved with Good Intentions,” published in the Maryland Psychiatrist in 2021.

Ms. Dian has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Maryland Super Lawyers ever year since 2020.
